The Perry County Humane Society is not a goverment agency and does not receive money from your tax dollars.

In fact, the Ohio Revised Code orders county governments to pay county Humane Agents, a person sworn into the position by a probate judge, a whole $ 25 a month. When Ohio animal cruelty laws were passed in 1887, this would be the equivalent of about $ 430 a month in todays currency. No Humane Agent for our society has received this money the county auditor is responsible for paying.

We can do without the cooperation of the county officials, but we can’t do without your help.

Without your donation, we have no veterinary care, no equipment for rescue, no gasoline to drive to the rescue, and no place to shelter a rescued animal.
